Grammar Program – Level 2 (Elementary Cycle 2)- Ages 8-9
This grammar program aims to help students develop a strong understanding of the foundations of the French language while enabling them to apply these concepts in both written and oral communication.
Students will learn to recognize and use different parts of speech (nouns, verbs, determiners, adjectives), identify the subject in a sentence, and understand and apply rules related to plural forms, as well as feminine and masculine agreements.
Beyond simply recognizing grammatical concepts, students will practice applying these rules in their own sentences and written texts in order to develop clearer, more structured, and more accurate writing.
The program also emphasizes understanding the role and importance of grammar. Students will discover how grammar helps them communicate more effectively, organize their ideas, and express their messages more clearly and precisely.
Through a variety of interactive and level-appropriate activities, students will gradually develop strategies to reflect on language, correct their mistakes, and become more independent in their use of French.
Grammar Program – Level 3 (Elementary Cycle 3) Ages 10-12
This grammar program aims to deepen students’ knowledge so they can better understand the structure of the French language and use these concepts accurately in their written and oral communication.
Students will work on different parts of speech (nouns, verbs, determiners, adjectives, pronouns, adverbs, etc.) as well as sentence functions, including the subject, the verb group, and certain complements. They will learn to analyze sentence structure in order to better understand how words interact within a sentence.
The program also focuses on agreement rules, including agreements within the noun group (feminine, masculine, plural) as well as subject–verb agreement. Students will develop strategies to identify clues within a sentence in order to apply agreements correctly.
Beyond identifying grammatical concepts, students will apply these learnings in their own writing, revise their texts, and use grammar as a tool to improve clarity, precision, and overall communication quality.
Special attention is also given to helping students understand the importance of grammar. They will discover how these concepts help them better structure their ideas, read and understand texts more effectively, and communicate more clearly.
Through interactive activities, sentence analysis exercises, and writing situations, students will gradually develop linguistic autonomy and the ability to reflect on language.

Reading Program – I READ THE SOUNDS
(JE LIS LES SONS) - Elementary Cycle 1- Ages 6-7
The I READ THE SOUNDS program focuses on developing the essential foundations of reading for students in the first cycle of elementary school by emphasizing phonological and phonemic awareness as well as the progressive learning of letter–sound relationships.
Through this program, students discover and learn to recognize a variety of basic sounds in the French language. They develop the ability to hear, identify, segment, and manipulate sounds in words—an essential skill for learning to read.
Students learn to associate graphemes (letters or groups of letters) with phonemes (sounds) in order to decode syllables and simple words. Gradually, they develop strategies to blend sounds, read syllables, recognize high-frequency words, and improve their reading fluency.
The program also focuses on developing vocabulary, reading accuracy, and comprehension so that students can understand the words they read. Through engaging, structured, and level-appropriate activities, students manipulate sounds, explore words, and build confidence as readers.
By understanding how sounds combine to form words, students develop strong decoding strategies that support their progression toward independent and effective reading.
The I READ THE SOUNDS program helps build a solid literacy foundation that is essential for success in both reading and writing.
Reading Program – Levels 2 and 3 (Elementary Cycle 2 and Cycle 3) - Ages 8-12
The Level 2 and Level 3 reading program aims to develop effective reading strategies that allow students to better understand, analyze, and interpret the texts they read. At these levels, the focus is on developing reading comprehension, fluency, vocabulary, and the ability to reflect on the meaning of a text.
Students learn to use a variety of reading strategies such as making predictions, asking questions, clarifying the meaning of words, making inferences, summarizing key information, and making connections to their prior knowledge and experiences. These strategies help students become more active and engaged readers.
The program also encourages students to reflect on their understanding, explain their reasoning, and use tools to better comprehend the texts they read. As these skills develop, students become increasingly independent and confident readers.
Special attention is given to differentiated instruction. While reading strategies are taught to the entire group, the texts used may vary according to students’ levels and needs. This approach allows each student to work with texts appropriate to their level while developing the same comprehension strategies.
Through varied activities, text discussions, and guided exercises, students learn to use reading as a tool to understand, learn, and think. The program ultimately supports the development of skilled readers who can adapt to different types of texts and reading situations.

The program places particular emphasis on understanding instructions, analyzing questions, and organizing answers—skills that are essential for success in this type of evaluation.
Students also practice with exercises and situations similar to those found in entrance exams, allowing them to become familiar with the format of the questions and to develop strong problem-solving strategies.
Special attention is given to developing time management strategies, concentration skills, and self-confidence so that students can approach exams in a calm and effective manner.
